This honor recognizes her groundbreaking contributions to the film industry and her ability to portray complex, powerful characters that resonate with audiences worldwide.

Viola Davis: A Trailblazing Honoree

Viola Davis is a revered figure in Hollywood, known for her transformative performances and dedication to her craft. She became an EGOT in 2023, joining an elite group of entertainers who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. Among her accolades are:

  • Oscar: Best Supporting Actress for Fences.
  • Emmy: Outstanding Lead Actress for How to Get Away With Murder.
  • Tony Awards: Wins for King Hedley II and Fences.

A New Tradition for Honorees

This year marks a special addition to the Golden Globes: a gala dinner on January 3 at the Beverly Hilton, honoring both the Cecil B. DeMille and Carol Burnett Award recipients. This exclusive evening will celebrate their legacies and achievements, marking the first time the awards have been given their own dedicated event.

A Night to Celebrate Film and Television

The Golden Globes, known as “Hollywood’s Party of the Year,” will honor the best in film and television. Hosted by Nikki Glaser, who brings her comedic flair to the stage, the event promises memorable moments. Glaser is also a first-time Grammy nominee for her comedy album Someday You’ll Die.

The show will once again be produced by Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner, Emmy-winning showrunners known for their work with Dick Clark Productions. Nominations for this year’s awards will be announced on December 9, 2024.

The Golden Globes will air live on CBS from 8-11 p.m. ET (5-8 p.m. PT) and stream on Paramount+ in the U.S., making it accessible for fans across platforms.
